POSTPONED - Exit 16 DDI Construction Public Meeting

The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) has POSTPONED the Construction Public Meeting for the Exit 16 Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) Project that was previously scheduled for Monday, October 10, 2022, at 6:30 PM.

This meeting will be rescheduled in advance of the start of construction. When the meeting is rescheduled, a project notification will be issued to our stakeholder contact list and posted here on the project website. The future meeting will include a presentation on the project overview, construction schedule and sequencing, the anticipated impacts, and information about future blasting activities with the opportunity to ask questions of the project team and contractor.

The Exit 16 DDI project includes improvements to the US Routes 2/7 corridor, in the vicinity of I-89 Exit 16, to enhance mobility and safety in Colchester, Vermont. The core of the project is to reconfigure the existing tight diamond interchange to a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) at I-89 Exit 16. The initial contract for the Exit 16 DDI project has been awarded to S.D. Ireland Brothers Corporation. The initial contract includes utility relocation, waterline replacements, telecom duct bank installation, ledge removal, and the construction of retaining walls.
