Short Temporary Closures of Mountain View Drive and Lower Mountain View Drive at Intersection with U.S. Route 2/7 Starting TOMORROW, Tuesday, June 13 in Colchester, VT

Starting TOMORROW, Tuesday, June 13, Mountain View Drive (upper) will be closed at its intersection with U.S. Route 2/7 (U.S. 2/7) starting at 4:00 a.m. and is anticipated to reopen by 11:00 a.m. Access to and egress from Mountain View Drive (upper) via U.S. Route 2/7 will be prohibited during these hours. A detour will be signed utilizing U.S. 2/7 and Rathe Road, back to Mountain View Drive.

Starting Wednesday, June 14, Lower Mountain View Drive will be closed at its intersection with U.S. Route 2/7 (U.S. 2/7) starting at 4:00 a.m. and is anticipated to reopen by 11:00 a.m. Access to and egress from Lower Mountain View Drive via U.S. Route 2/7 will be prohibited during these hours. A detour will be signed utilizing U.S. 2/7 and Hercules Drive, back to Lower Mountain View Drive.

Crews will be removing ledge and other materials to facilitate the installation of underground utilities. This work will require the short temporary closures of Mountain View Drive (upper) and Lower Mountain View Drive between the hours of 4:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. This work will require blasting activities to facilitate the removal of materials. Crews plan to restore the roadway to a paved condition before reopening. Paving operations are dependent on weather. There is the potential for sections of the roadway surface conditions to be gravel.

Motorists are reminded to please use caution, be alert, and drive slowly when traveling through the work zone.

LOCATION: U.S. 2/7 in Colchester starting at the Winooski town line and continuing north for 1.05 miles to Sunderland Woods Road.
