Weekly Construction Update 10/27/2023

TRAFFIC IMPACT AND DURATION:
Monday, October 30, through Friday, November 3, during the daytime hours of 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., motorists should expect closures of the outermost northbound and southbound lanes along U.S. 2/7 between South Park Drive and Mountain View Drive to facilitate guardrail installation and independent utility work.
Motorists are strongly encouraged to use caution while driving through the work zone and pay close attention to signage as traffic patterns will change.
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:
Crews will be on-site next week installing guardrail along both sides of U.S. 2/7 underneath the interstate bridges between South Park Drive and Mountain View Drive. This work will require the closures of the outermost northbound and southbound lanes along U.S. 2/7.
During daytime hours, Vermont Gas Systems will continue conducting independent utility work along the east side of U.S. 2/7 under a single-lane closure.
LOCATION: U.S. 2/7 in Colchester starting at the Winooski town line and continuing north for 1.05 miles to Sunderland Woods Road.
PROJECTED COMPLETION: Contract 1 Spring 2024, Contract 2 Summer 2026
