Weekly Construction Update - Friday, December 12, 2025

DATE: Friday, December 12, 2025

TRAFFIC IMPACT AND DURATION: From Monday, December 15, through Friday, December 19, between 6 AM and 3 PM, lane closures will be in effect on U.S. Route 2/7 (U.S. 2/7) between the Interstate 89 (I-89) Exit 16 southbound off-ramp and Highpoint Center/South Park Drive, and between the Park & Ride and Rathe Road. Lane closures will also take place along Lower Mountain View Drive near its intersection with U.S. 2/7. Intermittent blasting events will also require U.S. 2/7 between the Park & Ride and Rathe Road, and all intersecting sideroads to be shut down for approximately 10 minutes.  To learn more about traffic impacts associated with blasting activities, click here.

Independent utility companies will be on-site conducting utility work along U.S. 2/7 throughout the project area under lane closures.

Motorists should expect significant delays when traveling through the work zone and along adjacent roadways. Please plan ahead, leaving plenty of additional time to get to and from your destination. Whenever possible, consider alternate routes or other forms of transportation such as carpooling, ridesharing, transit, biking, or walking. Drivers should slow down, use caution, and follow flaggers and road signs.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Crews will continue drainage work along U.S. 2/7 between the I-89 southbound off-ramp and Highpoint Center, and on Lower Mountain View Drive near its intersection with U.S. 2/7. Retaining wall construction will also take place on Lower Mountain View Drive, and in The Lighthouse Restaurant parking lot off the roadway.

Intermittent blasting events will continue next week during daytime hours along the west side of U.S. 2/7 between the Park & Ride and Rathe Road. Independent utility work will take place along U.S. 2/7 throughout the project limits.
