TRAFFIC IMPACT AND DURATION: From Monday, December 8, through Friday, December 12, between 6 AM and 3 PM, U.S. Route 2/7 (U.S. 2/7) will have lane closures at the Interstate 89 (I-89) Exit 16 southbound off-ramp and northbound on-and-off ramps, and potential lane width reductions along the ramps for drainage work. In addition, U.S. 2/7 between Hercules Drive and Rathe Road will have lane closures for stormwater pond work and blasting. Intermittent blasting events will also require U.S. 2/7 between the Park & Ride and Rathe Road, and all intersecting sideroads to be shut down for approximately 10 minutes. Independent utility companies will be on-site conducting utility work along U.S. 2/7 throughout the project area under lane closures.

Motorists should expect significant delays when traveling through the work zone and along adjacent roadways. Please plan ahead, leaving plenty of additional time to get to and from your destination. Whenever possible, consider alternate routes or other forms of transportation such as carpooling, ridesharing, transit, biking, or walking. Drivers should slow down, use caution, and follow flaggers and road signs.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Crews will continue drainage work along U.S. 2/7 at the I-89 Exit 16 southbound off-ramp and northbound on-and-off ramps, and work on the stormwater pond along U.S. 2/7 between Hercules Drive and Rathe Road.

Intermittent blasting events will continue next week during daytime hours along the west side of U.S. 2/7 between the Park & Ride and Rathe Road. Independent utility work will take place along U.S. 2/7 throughout the project limits.
