Weekly Construction Update - Thursday, April 16, 2026

SPECIAL NOTICE: Tomorrow, Friday, April 17, crews will install temporary traffic signals at the intersection of U.S. Route 2/7 (U.S. 2/7) at Hercules Drive. Potential for lane closures. Flaggers will be present to assist traffic through the intersection.

TRAFFIC IMPACT AND DURATION: Intermittent traffic impacts starting Monday, April 20, continuing through Friday, April 24, between 6 AM and 3 PM:

  • Southbound lane closure along the west side of U.S. 2/7 from Whitcomb Street to Mountain View Drive
  • Northbound lane closure along the east side of U.S. 2/7 from South Park Drive to Mountain View Drive
  • Width reductions along Interstate 89 (I-89) northbound on-ramp and off-ramp
  • There is the potential for width reductions along I-89 southbound off-ramp

Motorists should expect significant delays when traveling through the work zone and along adjacent roadways. Please plan ahead, consider alternative routes, or use other forms of transportation (carpooling, ridesharing, transit, biking, or walking). Drivers should slow down, use caution, and follow flaggers and signage.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Crews will continue to work on roadway widening and the installation of light pole foundations and conduit and interconnect cables for the future traffic signals along U.S. 2/7, the I-89 northbound on and off-ramps and I-89 southbound off-ramp. Crews will continue installing temporary traffic signals at intersections along U.S. 2/7 working north throughout the project limits. Once temporary traffic signals have been installed, crews will demolish and remove the existing signals before beginning to install new traffic signal infrastructure starting at Mountain View Drive.
