Weekly Construction Update - Friday, May 8, 2026
TRAFFIC IMPACT AND DURATION: Nightly, starting the evening of Sunday, May 10, through the morning of Saturday, May 16, between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.:
- Lane closures along the west side of U.S. Route 2/7 (U.S. 2/7) between South Park Drive and Mountain View Drive, with two-way traffic shifted to the east
Intermittent traffic impacts starting the morning of Monday, May 11, through Friday, May 15, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.:
- Intermittent lane closures along either side of U.S. 2/7 at its signalized intersections with South Park Drive, the interstate ramps, Lower Mountain View Drive/Mountain View Drive, Hercules Drive, and Rathe Road. Closures may take place at multiple locations along the corridor; temporary traffic control will be coordinated.
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Nighttime work this week will take place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., starting the evening of Sunday, May 10, through the morning of Saturday, May 16. Starting Sunday and continuing through Thursday night, crews will remove asphalt and boxcut along the west side of U.S. 2/7, starting near South Park Drive and continuing north to Mountain View Drive. On Friday night, crews will temporarily pave the gravel section of U.S. 2/7 and install temporary line markings. Daytime work will take place between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m., starting the morning of Monday, May 11, through the afternoon of Friday, May 15. Crews will work to maintain gravel surfaces along the west side of U.S. 2/7 throughout the week. Crews will continue installing mast arm foundations at the signalized intersections of U.S. 2/7 at South Park Drive, the interstate ramps, Lower Mountain View Drive/Mountain View Drive, Hercules Drive, and Rathe Road.

City of Winooski Main Street Revitalization Project
- Project Area: Main Street in Winooski, between the railroad bridge near Maple Street and the Colchester town line near Checkerbay Carwash
- Next week: Crews will fine grade and pave the Main Street and Tigan Street intersection; install sidewalk, driveway aprons, and brick pavers on the east side of Main Street between Lafountain and Tigan Street; begin constructing islands on Main Street near Tigan, Normand and Bellevue Streets; and conduct signal work at the Main Street and Spring Street intersection.

- 24/7 Starting Monday at 7 AM | Main Street southbound lane reduction at Tigan Street intersection.
- Monday – Wednesday, 7 AM to 7 PM | Lane closure on Main Street at Tigan Street with flaggers controlling traffic at the intersection. Intermittent Tigan Street closure at Main Street, with traffic detoured to West Spring Street and Weaver Street. Lane closures and traffic shifts on Normand Street (Winooski School District exit), with traffic maintained.
