TRAFFIC IMPACT AND DURATION: From Monday, February 16, through Friday, February 20, between 6 AM and 3 PM, lane closures and lane shifts will be in effect on the west side of U.S. Routes 2/7 (U.S. 2/7) between NuHarbor Security and Rathe Road, and on the east side of U.S. 2/7 between the I-89 Exit 16 Northbound Off-ramp and Lower Mountain View Drive. A lane closure and shift will also occur on the south side of Upper Mountain View Drive near the CVS Pharmacy.
Independent utility companies will periodically conduct utility work along U.S. 2/7 between the Winooski town line and Sunderland Woods Road, under lane closures.
Motorists should expect significant delays when traveling through the work zone and along adjacent roadways. Please plan ahead, leaving plenty of additional time to get to and from your destination. Whenever possible, consider alternative routes or other forms of transportation, such as carpooling, ridesharing, transit, biking, or walking. Drivers should slow down, use caution, and follow flaggers and road signs.
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Next week, crews will continue hammering to remove ledge and shape the slope on the west side of U.S. 2/7 between the Park & Ride and Rathe Road. Just south of this area, on the west side of U.S. 2/7 near the NuHarbor Security driveway, crews will install a new drainage structure, which will also require ledge removal through early next week.
Crews will continue hammering to remove the existing retaining wall on the east side of U.S. 2/7 between Lower Mountain View Drive and The Lighthouse Restaurant, while also shaping the slope in this area. In addition, crews will shape the slope along the south side of Upper Mountain View Drive near the CVS Pharmacy.
Independent utility work will continue periodically along U.S. 2/7 between the Winooski town line and Sunderland Woods Road.
